Production & Industrial Engineers are concerned with the development, improvement, implementation and evaluation of integrated systems of people, money, information, equipment and process.
At school level, students should ideally choose Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The criteria for marks may vary from college to college, to secure a seat in a top college you must score at least 80% to 85% marks in your class 10+2 examinations.

Industrial and Production Engineers use a combination of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and management science. They focus on how to get the work done most efficiently, balancing many factors—such as time, number of workers needed, available technology, achieving the end product with no errors, workers' safety, environmental concerns, and cost.
Production Planners plan and organise production schedules. Their role involves assessing project and resource requirements and negotiating budgets and timelines with clients and managers.
At school level, a combination of any four subjects will work. A student should ideally prefer English, Mathematics, Commerce and Accountancy. If the school offers classes in Business Strategy or Management, it will be highly beneficial.
